Marie Chacon,

My journey in psychology began at Miami Dade College, where I pursued an Associate's degree in Pre-Psychology while gaining hands-on experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Later, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida International University (FIU), specializing in an ABA track and minoring in Criminal Justice. During this time, I continued working as an RBT and completed the fieldwork hours required to become a BCaBA.

I furthered my expertise by pursuing a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), an accredited university by the BACB. While earning my Master's, I worked as a BCaBA and completed an additional 2,000 hours of fieldwork for my BCBA credentials. Upon passing the BCBA exam, I became a Clinical Director at an ABA agency, overseeing therapy programs and supporting clients and their families.

After the birth of my first child, I realized how much I missed studying and growing professionally. Motivated by my desire to continually learn and improve my ability to help others, I enrolled in a second Master's degree program in Counseling (LMHC). My goal is to combine my ABA expertise with counseling techniques to provide support to clients, helping them navigate life’s challenges in a meaningful way.
